Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of Environment and Energy master's student Han Do-hee of the Artificial Intelligence Remote Sensing Laboratory (Supervisor Professor Yeom Jong-min) recently received the Student Excellence Presentation Award at the 2025 GeoAI Data Autumn Conference held on Jeju Island.

Han presented research titled "Multi-Satellite Fusion-Based Spatiotemporal Super-Resolution Surface Reflectance Retrieval Method Using Deep Learning and Physical Models" at the conference, and her work was recognized for its excellence.

The study proposed a technique that fuses various satellite datasets—GK-2A, Sentinel-2, KOMPSAT-3 and -3A, and PlanetScope—to precisely derive spatiotemporal super-resolution surface reflectance using AI. It is expected to be applicable to climate change response, environmental monitoring, agriculture, and water resource management.

In her acceptance remarks, master's student Han Do-hee said, "I am deeply grateful to Professor Yeom Jong-min for leading the research and providing meticulous guidance, and I sincerely thank my colleagues in the Artificial Intelligence Remote Sensing Laboratory for their great support."

Meanwhile, the conference served as a forum for sharing the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and the latest research outcomes in the fields of Earth environment and spatial data. Numerous domestic and international researchers participated, creating an opportunity for academic exchange and collaboration.
