JBNU Department of Sport Science officially launched the 'JBNU Department of Sport Science Alumni Association' on November 27 to seek departmental development through strong ties among alumni.

That evening at 6:00 p.m., the department held the official launch ceremony at a restaurant in downtown Jeonju, with Department Head Kim Sang-hyun, faculty members, current students, and alumni in attendance.

At the launch, alumnus Lee Byung-young (Class of 2000) was elected as the inaugural president of the alumni association. They also shared plans to develop the association into a platform for the local community and industry to grow together by operating various programs, including regular alumni exchange events and mentoring for current students.

In particular, a memorial segment honoring the late Emeritus Professor Kim Mu-young, who made significant contributions to the development of the JBNU Department of Sport Science, was held and moved attendees deeply.

The event continued with a dinner and social gathering, facilitating active exchanges between senior and junior alumni and the faculty.

Lee Byung-young, the inaugural president of the alumni association, emphasized, 'The launch of the alumni association is a meaningful first step as the Department of Sport Science prepares for a larger leap forward as one community,' and added, 'We will actively pursue a variety of activities to promote departmental development, nurture junior students, and contribute to the regional sports industry.'
