Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Health Services relocated and expanded from the former Welfare Building to the third floor of the Student Town and held an opening ceremony on the 28th. The move improved the medical environment and greatly expanded clinical space and facilities, creating conditions that enable students and other members to access safer and higher-quality medical services.
The opening ceremony was attended by President Yang Oh-bong and other university executives, Kim Jong-seok, Director of Health Services, honorary clinical professors, faculty and staff, and students, who celebrated the relocation and opening of the Health Services.
The project, implemented to strengthen on-campus health care infrastructure, had a total budget of 520 million won. Construction began in August and was completed on October 24. The actual relocation was completed on November 6, and official operations began with the opening ceremony.
The new Health Services measures 454.1 m² and comprises 16 rooms, including a general clinic, oral clinic, dispensing room, treatment room, laboratory, radiology room, body composition testing room, and observation room. Medical equipment such as a digital X-ray imaging system and dental unit chairs were newly installed to improve the quality of care.
In addition to basic clinical services and health counseling, the Health Services plans to expand a range of medical services, including disease prevention and lifestyle improvement programs.
JBNU expects that the expansion of the Health Services facilities will enable user-tailored care, including for the rapidly increasing number of international students.
Kim Jong-seok, Director of Health Services (Professor, School of Medicine), said, "We relocated to the newly constructed Student Town to improve accessibility for students and other members and to pursue improvements in the environment and medical welfare for the university community. We will strive to provide convenient medical services so that all members of the university, including students and international students, can enjoy a safe and healthy campus life."
