Ten national hub universities leading innovation in Korean higher education gathered at JBNU for a time of unity and dialogue. The '2025 National Hub National Universities Festival' was held in grand style at JBNU on November 21.

This year's festival was attended by approximately 400 faculty, staff, and students from the ten hub national universities — Kangwon National University, Kyungpook National University, Gyeongsang National University, Pusan National University, Seoul National University, Chonnam National University, JBNU, Jeju National University, Chungnam National University, and Chungbuk National University — enhancing the spirit of exchange and unity.

The festival drew attention as it returned to JBNU for the first time in ten years since it was first held at JBNU in 2016. Participants competed fiercely in new sports events focused on activities such as giant ball rolling, vision-tower stacking, wave-making, group jump rope, and mission relay.

Cultural events, including performances by the JBNU cheer squad and student clubs, and a reception also received positive responses from participants. Barbecue and prize draws were provided at the venue, adding to the festive atmosphere.

President Yang O-bong said, 'I sincerely welcome everyone back to JBNU, which is full of the scent of autumn,' and added, 'The sweat you have shed, as the future of the hub national universities and the hope of the Republic of Korea, will become an inexhaustible source of energy for the advancement of our country’s universities.'

Meanwhile, at the Council of Presidents of National Hub National Universities held alongside the event, in-depth discussions were conducted on strategies for joint development of the hub national universities, improvement of research and educational infrastructure, and current policy issues facing national universities.
