Kim Na-eun, a team member of the Jeonju Deokjin-gu Children's Foodservice Management Support Center, which is entrusted to and operated by Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), received the '2025 Commendation from the Minister of Food and Drug Safety for Meritorious Service in Meal Safety Management'.
Since joining in 2015, Kim has been responsible for children's nutrition management and for providing hygiene and safety support at foodservice facilities for more than ten years. She has made a significant contribution to improving the meal management standards of children's foodservice establishments in the region.
She received the commendation in recognition of her contributions to promoting healthy eating habits among children and creating a safe foodservice environment through consistent on-site inspections and customized nutrition and hygiene education.
Kim Na-eun said, 'I will continue to work to strengthen hygiene, safety, and nutrition management at children's foodservice facilities in Deokjin-gu, and I will do my best to create a healthy and safe meal environment for local children.'
Noh Jeong-ok, the center director (a professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at JBNU), said, 'This award is a source of pride for all center members and the result of our continuous efforts to raise local meal safety standards,' adding, 'We will continue to provide more professional support so that children can enjoy safer and healthier diets.'
Meanwhile, since its opening in 2014, the Jeonju Deokjin-gu Children's Foodservice Management Support Center has provided nutrition, hygiene, and safety management support to children's foodservice facilities that are not required to employ a nutritionist. It operates with support from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeonju City under Article 21 of the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life.
