Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of History (Chair: Park Jeong-min) held the “Night of Historians” on the 13th in Room 208 of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, providing a forum for students, faculty, and alumni to interact.

The event began with a commemorative address by Chair Park Jeong-min and proceeded with Part I, an academic presentation session, followed by Part II, an alumni guest lecture.

In the first session, 15 students presented original content they had produced. The program ranged broadly from traditional research formats to digital-based content, including short papers, field-trip travelogues, webtoons, and videos. Topics covered various periods and fields—such as Korean, East Asian, and Western history—thereby expanding the scope of scholarly exchange.

In the second session, Department of History alumni Jang Gi-jae (Class of 2002, Cultural Researcher, Wanju County Office) and Hwang Young-sang (Class of 2009, Judicial Researcher, Jeonju District Court) served as speakers. They offered practical advice focused on career paths available to history graduates and on their field experiences.

The JBNU Department of History, which began recruiting students in 1951 and has a history spanning more than 70 years, is a department with a long tradition of producing outstanding graduates across various sectors of society.

Park Jeong-min, chair of the JBNU Department of History, said, "Through this 'Night of Historians,' we were able to share the active engagement of our alumni and, through students' creative content production and presentations, reaffirm the Department of History's future potential and capabilities."
