"Sharing Grows More Joyful Over Time."

Director Kim Hyung-nyeon of Incheon Central Animal Hospital, who has extended his support to younger generations for 23 years (Class of '67, College of Veterinary Medicine, Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)), donated 10 million won to JBNU's development fund again this year.

JBNU presented Director Kim with a plaque of appreciation in the President's Office on the 4th floor of the University Headquarters on November 7. President Yang O-bong and other senior officials attended the ceremony, expressing deep gratitude for his steadfast commitment to giving over many years.

Director Kim's giving began in 2003 with a pledge to repay the kindness he received while at the College of Veterinary Medicine. His annual donations, continued without fail for 23 years, have become more than material support; they have served as an example of positive influence for younger alumni and students.

What began as an initial donation of 20 million won has continued steadily each year according to his circumstances. His cumulative donations to date amount to 430 million won. Last year, he also donated 12 million won in total, including the 2 million won prize from the "Proud Alumni Award," returning even the award money to his alma mater.

In honor of his intentions, JBNU named the contribution the "Kim Hyung-nyeon Scholarship" and awards it annually to students in the College of Veterinary Medicine. A lecture hall in the College of Veterinary Medicine has been named "Kim Hyung-nyeon Hall" to commemorate his dedication.

"The sense of reward I feel from donating each year has grown," Director Kim said. "I hope younger students can devote themselves to their studies and pursue greater dreams. I also hope that giving will become a lasting tradition at JBNU."

President Yang O-bong said, "Director Kim's donations for more than 20 years can only be described as love for his alma mater and for younger generations. We will use the funds carefully to support students' studies and to improve the educational environment."

Meanwhile, Director Kim graduated from Jeonju Haesung High School and the Department of Veterinary Medicine at JBNU. He began his career as a veterinarian at Dongshin Pharmaceutical in 1973 and has operated an animal hospital in Incheon since 1983, growing it into a leading regional clinic. His long-standing pattern of giving has been recognized within the JBNU alumni community as the longest-running and most consistent example of alumni philanthropy.
