Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Jeonbuk International Development Cooperation Center (Director Baek Sook-hee), the Institute for International Development Cooperation, and The School of International Studies jointly operate the JBNU Development Cooperation Relay Seminar 'INDECODE', which marks its third anniversary and will hold five seminars throughout this November.
'INDECODE' is an abbreviation of 'International Development Cooperation & Delights' and conveys the idea of 'creating someone's joy through development cooperation.' Since the first seminar in November 2022, various ODA experts have shared knowledge and field experience each month. Through Q&A sessions, the seminar has established itself as a forum that provides multifaceted perspectives and insights on international development cooperation.
This November, experts from diverse fields such as agriculture, construction, AI, social ventures, and local collaboration will speak on the latest trends and cases in international development cooperation.
On November 5, at the 28th seminar, Senior Researcher Kim In-bong of Jeonbuk Technopark addressed the strategies of agricultural ODA and Korea's role under the theme 'Agricultural Machinery ODA Projects and a Global Foothold: New Paths for Korean Agricultural Machinery Exports.' On November 12, Kim Jeong-wook, Executive Director of Yuil Engineering, will detail the implementation process of infrastructure-focused ODA under the title 'Architectural Implementation in ODA Projects: Focusing on the National Pediatric Hospital in Cambodia.'
On November 13, Professor Kim Tae-kyung of Chungbuk National University will share experience from the Cambodia IBS project under the theme 'Development Cooperation x AI: From Field Application to System Building,' discussing ways to integrate advanced technologies with development cooperation. On November 19, Oh Hwan-jong, CEO of T.A.B., will present 'Social Ventures and Impact: Sustainable Solutions to Developing Countries’ Drinking Water and Sanitation Issues.'
Finally, on November 26, Shin Min-jeong, Team Leader at the Local Government Human Resources Development Institute, will present 'From Local to Global: How Small Experiences Lead to Careers in International Cooperation and ODA,' offering practical pathways and a vision for regional talent to grow into ODA experts.
Baek Sook-hee, Director of the Jeonbuk International Development Cooperation Center, said, 'INDECODE has faithfully served as a platform for disseminating ODA knowledge over the past three years. Through this relay seminar, we will explore the broad spectrum of international development cooperation in depth and provide attendees with wide-ranging perspectives and insights.'
Meanwhile, INDECODE seminars are open to anyone to attend in person without prior registration. They can also be viewed online via Zoom and YouTube, offering broad accessibility and learning opportunities.
