JBNU announced that it held the 'Global Inbound Start-up Idea Day' on the 7th at The May Hotel in Jeonju to discover outstanding start-up ideas from international students in the region and to provide capacity-building education.

The event was organized by the JBNU Startup Support Center (Director Guk Gyeong-su) and implemented as part of the In-Bound Start-up Support Project under the 2025 JBNU Glocal University 30 Regional Coexistence Project. JBNU launched the program to help international students settle in the region and to provide a foundation for them to grow into global start-ups.

At the event, attended by about 20 international students interested in starting businesses locally, participants shared start-up success stories leveraging global networks and took time to refine their start-up ideas through one-to-one mentoring with start-up experts.

JBNU plans to hold an International Student Start-up Competition following this Idea Day. Through the competition, JBNU will provide opportunities to secure initial start-up funding to international students with outstanding ideas and will work to expand a start-up culture among international students in the region and strengthen global start-up networking.

Guk Gyeong-su, Director of the JBNU Startup Support Center, said, 'The purpose of this program is to encourage international students to engage with the local start-up ecosystem and to help them achieve stable settlement and growth into global start-ups based on that engagement. The Startup Support Center will continue to foster an ecosystem in which start-ups can take root in the region through various supports to activate international student entrepreneurship.'
