The Regional Child Center Jeonbuk Support Group, operated by Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Industry-University Cooperation under commission from the Jeollabuk Provincial Government, held the '2024 Regional Child Center Performance Sharing Meeting' on the 7th to review last year’s achievements and discuss future vision with local child welfare stakeholders.
Held under the theme 'Robust Care, Happy Children,' the event was attended by around 300 participants, including regional child center staff, municipal and county officials, and representatives of social welfare organizations. The Support Group shared the key outcomes of various child care projects carried out this year and sought ways to enhance the professionalism and quality of care at regional child centers. The event was viewed as an opportunity to lay the groundwork for building a sustainable regional care ecosystem.
In the following healing program for regional child center staff, the 'Learning Section' featured research presentations on the current state and future of child rights and care services, sharing of local field cases, and discussions on policy directions. In the subsequent 'Communication Section,' staff from across the province introduced their activities and exchanged experiences in a networking session. The 'Rest Section' concurrently offered healing programs to help care staff recharge, which received strong positive feedback.
The event further strengthened cooperation and exchange among regional child centers in the province and provided a forum for translating field practice into policy discussion. In particular, participants experienced both academic dialogue and emotional recovery, marking a turning point for creating a sustainable and healthy care environment.
Kim Seohyun, Chair of the Steering Committee (Professor, Department of Social Welfare, JBNU), said, "I hope this performance sharing meeting will serve as a forum to explore development directions for regional child centers and a space for cooperative growth." Choi Hyunyoung, Director of the JBNU Industry-University Cooperation Regional Child Center Jeonbuk Support Group, stated, "I hope this event will help spread care environments in which children can grow up safely and happily."
Meanwhile, the JBNU Industry-University Cooperation Regional Child Center Jeonbuk Support Group provides high-quality care services to children by operating a variety of programs for 287 regional child centers across Jeonbuk, including education, consulting, and evaluation, as well as the 'Self-Identity Support Program,' 'Career-Focused Support Program,' and 'Multicultural Support Program.'
