An Mun-seok, Professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), donated 10 million won to strengthen students' global competencies and to improve the department's educational environment.
Professor An, who joined as an assistant professor in 2012 and has dedicated 13 years to teaching and research in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at JBNU, said, "I wanted to help students in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy develop a broader worldview and prepare for the future," adding, "I hope this donation will make a small contribution to JBNU's leap toward becoming a global university."
Professor An emphasized, "JBNU is a representative brand of Jeonbuk and a central hub for regional development," stressing, "Small donations from local residents and committed individuals from Jeonbuk can come together to create significant change."
He continued, "There are many people living across the country and abroad who wish to contribute to regional development. I hope that solidarity with these individuals will further spread the culture of giving."
In response, President Yang Oh-bong said, "We sincerely thank Professor An Mun-seok for his profound intention and action to broaden career pathways and educational opportunities for students of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy," and added, "The donation will be used valuably to support students' global advancement and to create a balanced educational environment."
