Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held the Second-Semester JBNU Major Exploration Fair as part of the Glocal University 30 project and in line with the implementation of "Recruitment Unit Regionalization" to effectively strengthen new students' ability to choose their majors.

From Tuesday the 4th to Thursday the 6th, the three-day meetings held by each college at Jinsudang served as a practical venue for major exploration. Departments and faculties from various fields operated booths to provide information related to majors and to offer guidance on career choice directions.

In particular, following the first semester, approximately 1,800 participants, including new students, took part, showing a strong response. A total of 77 departments participated voluntarily. Professors, teaching assistants, and senior students directly provided major introductions, guidance on departmental activities, and career counseling, increasing new students' understanding of their majors.

In addition, through diverse content such as exhibitions of career roadmap posters by major, rolling-page videos showcasing alumni employers, and mentoring by employed graduates, students were able to access major-related information in a more systematic and visual way.

Hands-on events and activities were also provided, allowing students to participate naturally and increasing their interest and enthusiasm in their majors.

One new student who attended the event said, "Being able to ask professors and senior students questions directly and receive counseling on career direction alleviated my vague concerns about choosing a major."

Jo Dong-hyu, Vice-President of the Office of Student Career Support, said, "I hope this fair will serve as an opportunity for new students to proactively explore and decide on their majors and career paths," adding, "We will further expand opportunities for major exploration and career planning for new students by field."
