Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Museum will screen two films invited to the 25th Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival on October 31 in the museum's second-floor auditorium as part of the National University Development Project.
This special screening event has been organized to strengthen the JBNU Museum's solidarity with the Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival, which opens on October 30, and to expand opportunities for local residents to enjoy culture. All screenings are free of charge.
Part 1 will begin at 1:00 PM with director Jeong Yoon-chul's film 'Sea Tiger'. After the screening, a cine-talk will follow with Park Young-wan, Chair of the Jeonbuk Independent Film Association. The session will provide an in-depth discussion of the sacrifice and courage depicted in the work and the social significance of independent film.
In Part 2, starting at 3:30 PM, director Choi Jin-young's 'Glad I Was Born' will be screened. After the screening, there will be a GV (audience talk) with director Choi Jin-young and actress Kang Jin-ah, where they will share behind-the-scenes details and the messages the film aims to convey directly with the audience.
A 'Special Invited Works On-site Still Photograph Exhibition' will also be held in front of the museum auditorium, allowing visitors to view photographic captures of moments from the film productions and vivid scenes of the actors on set.
A representative of the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Museum said, "This invited screening is a meaningful occasion that reveals the current state of Jeonbuk independent film and a valuable opportunity for local residents to encounter film up close," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with local filmmakers to broaden opportunities for cultural exchange."
