The Jeonbuk Regional Child Center Support Team of Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Industry-University Cooperation, which operates under commission from Jeollabuk-do, announced on the 28th that it recently held a child growth report meeting as part of the multicultural children support project 'Our Village Cultural Bridge (Connecting Culture),' supported by the Community Chest of Korea through a designated donation from LG.
At the report meeting, approximately 50 people, including representatives of regional children's centers from Gunsan Osikdo, Namwon Noam, Iksan Jeil, Jangsu Daeseong, and Jeongeup Habu, as well as participating children, attended, presented program activities from the past year, and held an awards ceremony.
This child growth report meeting was organized to share the process by which socially marginalized children, including those from refugee families, confidently express themselves and strengthen their self-esteem through cultural exchange programs. The children took to the stage to present their impressions and achievements, and, through time spent sharing each center's best practices, they developed confidence and leadership.
It also became a meaningful occasion to strengthen exchanges among regional children's centers, jointly discuss future directions for program development, and seek qualitative improvements in community child care.
Kim Seohyeon, Chair of the Operating Committee and Professor in the Department of Social Welfare at JBNU, said, "I hope this report meeting will serve as an opportunity for children to understand cultural diversity and reflect on their own growth." Choi Hyun-young, Director of the Jeonbuk Regional Child Center Support Team, also said, "We will continue to cooperate with regional children's centers to create a community care environment where children can grow happily."
Meanwhile, the JBNU Industry-University Cooperation Jeonbuk Regional Child Center Support Team provides education, consulting, evaluations, and other support to 287 regional children's centers in the province, and operates various programs such as the 'Be Myself Support Project,' the 'Career Specialization Support Project,' and the 'Multicultural Support Project.'
