The Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center, operated by Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) and led by Center Director Professor Han Jae-ik, successfully held a wildlife experiential education program for children on the weekend of October 25 at the Iksan Specialized Campus.

Supported by the Ministry of Environment, the Jeollabuk Provincial Government, and the National University Promotion Project, the event is held annually to inform local children about the importance of wildlife protection and the value of ecosystem conservation, and to provide career exploration opportunities through hands-on vocational experiences.

On the day, participating children donned veterinarian gowns and experienced an actual wildlife clinical environment. They toured the examination room, pharmacy, and radiology room, observed the process by which rescued wild animals are treated, and took time to understand the role of veterinarians and animal rescue activities.

An eco-friendly birdhouse-making workshop was also held, where children built birdhouses themselves, learned the meaning of nature conservation, and reflected on practical ways to act.

Han Jae-ik, Director of the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center, said, "I hope that through this program the children were able to personally appreciate the importance of wildlife protection and the value of ecosystems. We will continue to expand opportunities for ecological education in cooperation with the local community."
