Nuri Kim, a PhD candidate in the Department of Bionanotechnology and Bio-Convergence Engineering at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (Supervisor: Professor Dongwon Lee, Department of Polymer -Nano Science &Technology), has been selected for the 2025 Support Program for Next-Generation Scholars in Science and Engineering, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF).
The program provides research opportunities that enable doctoral students to lead creative and challenging research related to their dissertation topics. It is a national research support scheme that provides annual research funding to support academic growth.
Through this selection, PhD candidate Nuri Kim will receive research incentive funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea for two years to pursue research under the title 'Development of Redox-Controlled Polymeric Prodrug Nanoparticles for Overcoming Drug Resistance and Tumor-Selective Therapy.' This study aims to overcome the resistance limitations of existing chemotherapeutic agents and to develop more precise and effective next-generation targeted anticancer therapies.
