Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) operates the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center (Director: Professor Han Jae-ik). The Center will run a wildlife experience education program for children on Saturday, October 25, and is recruiting participants.
Supported by the Ministry of Environment, Jeollabuk-do Provincial Government, and the National University Development Project, this annual event is designed to inform local children about the importance of wildlife protection and the value of ecological conservation, and to provide career exploration opportunities.
The experience will take place at the Jeonbuk Wildlife Rescue and Management Center on JBNU's Iksan Specialized Campus. Participating children will wear veterinarian's coats and experience an actual clinical environment.
They will observe the process by which rescued wildlife are treated and tour the examination room, pharmacy, and radiology room to learn about the roles of veterinarians and life-saving activities.
An eco-friendly birdhouse-making activity will also be offered to convey practical messages about nature conservation.
A total of 15 participants will be recruited (elementary school students). The application period is from October 13 to 17. Those wishing to apply should download the application form from the notices section on the Jeonbuk National University website (www.jbnu.ac.kr), complete it, and submit it by email to rjj3081@jbnu.ac.kr.
