JBNU Central Library (Director Seol Dong-hun) is presenting a program to promote a reading culture in collaboration with the local community.
JBNU announced on the 13th that, as part of the National University Development Project and the Glocal University Project, it will hold "Book·Talk·Pop: A Reading Culture Popup — Read, See, Enjoy" on the lawn plaza in front of the Central Library from October 14 to October 23.
This event has been organized as an open reading-culture platform where local bookstores, the university, and residents come together to communicate through books and share culture.
During the event, a popup store featuring local bookstores will be set up on the lawn plaza, allowing visitors to experience distinctive book curation. On-site services will also be available to borrow or purchase the latest titles immediately.
Works by young creators will be exhibited, including the publication of JBNU’s creative club "Ahoe" and award-winning entries from the book cover redesign contest at Jeonju National University of Education, creating an opportunity to share youthful sensibilities and creativity.
An outdoor reading area will also be created, serving as an open space where anyone can read freely and enjoy the autumn reading culture.
The event will run for three days from October 14 to 16 and again from October 21 to 23, each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
JBNU Central Library Director Seol Dong-hun said, "This program, which brings together local bookstores and the university, will provide a new reading-culture experience for both students and local residents," adding, "We hope the university library will become a place of mutual growth together with the local community."
