Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Divsion of Public Science and the Korea Association of Property Appraisers held a seminar and a commemorative lecture on the 22nd to celebrate the establishment of the nation's first "Appraisal-Linked Major" (Representative Faculty Member Heo Gang-mu), which awards a bachelor's degree in appraisal.

With about 100 attendees, including students currently enrolled in JBNU's Appraisal-Linked Major, practicing appraisers visited JBNU and shared diverse experiences, including the examination process for obtaining the appraiser qualification, preparation for career entry, and on-site practical work.

In addition, appraisers and students were divided into four small groups for networking seminars. The close-contact format allowed students to learn in detail about appraisers' job duties and the preparation process. The event received high praise as an excellent opportunity.

Kim Do-gyeong, a third-year student in the Divsion of Public Science who attended the event, said, "I was pleased to receive an unexpected welcome and a commemorative gift at the networking seminar, and it was a very useful and valuable time to hear candid accounts from practicing appraisers about their experiences and work."

In the afternoon's second session, titled "2024 JBNU Inspirational Class," Representative Faculty Member Heo Gang-mu, who leads the Appraisal-Linked Major, introduced the appraisal system and the linked major.

The program also included a special lecture by Kwon Kyung-ryul, an appraiser and JBNU alumnus, along with a special lecture by an adjunct professor of the Appraisal-Linked Major. The diverse programming conveyed to students a vivid understanding of the appraisal system and the work of appraisers, as well as the significance of establishing and operating the Appraisal-Linked Major.

Meanwhile, the Korea Association of Property Appraisers donated KRW 20 million on the 22nd to support the training of professional personnel in the appraisal industry, and plans to donate an additional KRW 20 million next year.
