Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Alumni Association (Chairman Choi Byung-seon) held the 2024 JBNU Alumni Association Chairman's Cup Golf Tournament to support the 'One-Thousand-Won Breakfast' for enrolled students.

The tournament held on the 25th at the Jeonju Shangri-La Country Club was attended by 132 alumni from 33 teams, including JBNU President Yang O-bong; Kim Young-il, Head of the Jeonbuk Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation; Park Jong-wan, Senior Executive Vice President of Jeonbuk Bank; Attorney Kim Young; and Kim Dong-geun, Chair of the Faculty Council. 

The tournament was organized so that the Alumni Association and alumni could contribute to JBNU’s 'One-Thousand-Won Breakfast' program, which is operated to realize student welfare.

Prior to the tournament, the Alumni Association presented a development fund of KRW 5,000,000 to President Yang O-bong for the university's development. 

Following this, Yoo Byung-seong (Agricultural Biology '86), President of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Alumni Association, and Jeon Eui-hyeon (Architectural Engineering '94), Vice-Chair of the Alumni Association, donated KRW 25,000,000 and KRW 14,000,000, respectively.

At the event, President Yang O-bong stated, “The warm interest of the Alumni Association and alumni is helping the university overcome many difficulties. We are grateful for their generous support so that more students can benefit, and we will continue to work hard so that our alma mater can be a source of pride anytime, anywhere.”

Chairman Choi Byung-seon of the Alumni Association said, “As this tournament has great significance for supporting the One-Thousand-Won Breakfast for enrolled students, many alumni actively participated,” adding, “We ask for continued interest and support so that we can consistently provide a warm meal to our junior students.”
