Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong) has joined hands with the Energy Economics Institute (Director Kim Hyun-je) to respond to the rapidly changing climate crisis.
The two institutions signed a formal agreement at the JBNU President's Conference Room on May 2 at 11:00 a.m., with President Yang O-bong, Director Kim Hyun-je and other key officials in attendance.
As the country's only national research institute in the field of energy policy, the Energy Economics Institute leads energy policy research and plays a pivotal role in the formulation of major government energy policies.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will pursue joint research in the energy and resources sectors, exchange academic information and human resources, and cooperate in training specialists for climate crisis response and the implementation of carbon neutrality.
President Yang O-bong said, "The rapidly changing climate threatens not only regions and nations but the global community. Through this agreement with the Energy Economics Institute, we will work to build infrastructure that can proactively respond to the global climate crisis."
