JBNU, President Yang O-bong, has been selected as the host university for the 2024 Parang Sadari Program in the Honam–Jeju Region, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
The Parang Sadari Program has been implemented since 2018. It selects university students who strive to realize their dreams despite economic hardship and provides language training and global field experiences to open up career opportunities.
As a result of this selection, JBNU will select 22 of its own students and five students from other universities in the Honam–Jeju Region, and provide overseas university training and corporate internships for five weeks during the summer vacation.
Through this program, a total of KRW 5,000,000 per student will be provided. The government will cover 80% and JBNU will cover 20% of the costs. Selected students will receive full support for university program fees, dormitory fees, airfare, and other expenses. Applicants who wish to participate must submit their applications by May 2, 2024 (Thursday).
Jo Hwa-rim, Director of the Office of International Affairs at JBNU, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure the successful implementation of the Parang Sadari Program to provide university students from JBNU and the Honam–Jeju Region who possess dreams and passion with opportunities to develop global competencies and to explore career paths."
