Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) is sparing no effort to ensure a safety-incident–free event as it prepares for the 77th Anniversary Daedongje, to be held from May 8 to 10, by establishing a close cooperative system with related agencies such as the police and fire services.

Because the festival is attended not only by students and other university members but also by local residents and is expected to draw large crowds, the university has proactively prepared safety management measures.

To this end, JBNU held a meeting with related agencies on April 30 in the University Headquarters Conference Room(207) to prepare for event safety for the "77th Anniversary Daedongje".

At the meeting, personnel from related agencies such as Deokjin Police Station and Deokjin Fire Station and officials from the Division of Student Support, the university department responsible for the festival, participated. They carefully reviewed measures for accident prevention, plans for securing and deploying safety-management personnel, and exchanged views on the safety-management plan.

Through the meeting, Deokjin Police Station agreed to set up booths during the Daedongje to conduct accident-prevention and public-awareness activities. Deokjin Fire Station also agreed to closely coordinate with the university by deploying emergency vehicles and installing booths to prepare for safety incidents.

Kim Jong-seok, Head of the Office of Student Support at JBNU, said, "We have established an organic cooperative system with related agencies and are making every effort to prevent safety incidents so that students and local residents can enjoy a safe festival." He added, "With the resolve that not a single safety incident must occur during the festival, we will carefully check for any shortcomings and do our utmost in our final preparations to ensure a safe festival."
