The Divsion of Public Science (Head: Professor Jeong Tae-jong) achieved a remarkable result this year, producing five successful candidates in the 13th Bar Examination.
According to the Divsion of Public Science on the 30th, graduates of the division who passed the Bar Examination include Kim Ha-eun (Class of 2013), as well as Kim Myung-hoon and Jeon Ji-hyun (Class of 2014), Park Chi-won (Class of 2016), and Lee Hae-su (Class of 2017).
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Divsion of Public Science operates a practical legal experience program with the Jeonbuk Provincial Bar Association to support students aspiring to enter the legal profession. The division helps many students enroll in law school after graduation. Recently, it has been pursuing initiatives such as invited special lectures through an agreement with the Association of Property Appraisers and the establishment of an appraisal-linked major to promote convergence education.
Accordingly, on the 29th the Divsion of Public Science invited this year's Bar Examination passers to a meeting attended by the entire division community, including undergraduates.
At the meeting, the successful candidates pledged active support, including establishing an alumni network of legal professionals from the Divsion of Public Science, donating development funds to train juniors who wish to enter the legal profession, and participating in division programs for underclassmen.
Kim Ha-eun, who graduated in 2019, said, 'After passing the Bar Examination and looking back, I once again realized that establishing a clear career direction and preparing steadily while enrolled in the division makes it easier to achieve one's goals.' She added, 'I want to share my know-how generously so that juniors do not have to go through the trial-and-error I experienced and can reach their goals more smoothly and quickly.'
Meanwhile, JBNU Divsion of Public Science saw seven of its graduates enter law schools, including Yonsei University, in the 2024 academic year. It has also produced professionals with various qualifications, such as property appraisers, certified labor consultants, and tax accountants. To expand these outcomes, the division is making multifaceted efforts through curriculum development and the operation of customized extracurricular programs.
