Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), President Yang Oh-bong; Kim Dong-geun, Chair of the JBNU Faculty Council (Law School); and alumnus Kang Hyun-sin, CEO of Miso Ability Development Center Co., Ltd., each donated KRW 10 million to the development fund to support the enhancement of the university's competitiveness.

The Jeonbuk National University Development Foundation presented plaques of appreciation to Chair Kim Dong-geun and alumnus Kang Hyun-sin on April 24 at 10:40 a.m. in the President's Conference Room at the University Headquarters, with President Yang Oh-bong and key university officials in attendance.

Chair Kim and alumnus Kang decided to donate to support JBNU's effort to achieve its KRW 7.7 billion fundraising target to mark the university's 77th anniversary.

Chair Kim Dong-geun said, "I was deeply moved by the lecture of alumnus Yoon Shin-geun from the College of Veterinary Medicine, who donated KRW 1.1 billion, and decided to join the donation," adding, "University development is not achieved by the efforts of a few; it is important that many people take interest, find something they can do, and put it into practice, and with that in mind I joined forces with alumnus Kang."

Alumnus Kang Hyun-sin said, "I have continued to donate to realize my long-held thoughts for the development of my alma mater," and added, "I hope JBNU will make rapid progress as a Glocal University, and as a senior and alumnus I will pay greater attention."

This development fund will be allocated as a designated fund for the Law School and to the University Competitiveness Enhancement Fund, and will be used to improve students' educational environments and for related purposes.

Meanwhile, as teacher and student, Chair Kim and alumnus Kang previously donated to the '1,000-Won Breakfast' for students last year, with Chair Kim donating KRW 1 million and alumnus Kang donating KRW 5 million to the Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association. In August last year, alumnus Kang also donated KRW 5 million, requesting that it be used for students.
