Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong) is operating the "1,000-won Dinner" in the same format as this year’s expanded "1,000-won Breakfast" to encourage students taking midterm exams.
The 1,000-won Dinner will be available during the midterm period from April 22 to 30 and the final exam period from June 5 to 19. The university plans to operate the same program for the midterm and final exams in the second semester.
During this period, JBNU will provide a total of KRW 29,600,000 to offer the 1,000-won Dinner to 200 students per day. As with the 1,000-won Breakfast, based on a standard meal price of KRW 5,000, the university will subsidize KRW 4,000 and students will pay KRW 1,000 per meal.
The program will run at the Student Welfare Center cafeteria from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Meal tickets can be purchased via the app (It's Me) and kiosks from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
President Yang O-bong said, "Following last year’s snack-sharing program and this year’s expanded 1,000-won Breakfast program, we have introduced the 1,000-won Dinner for the first time so that students can have a hearty dinner and focus on their studies throughout the exam period." He added, "We will continue to expand student welfare measures that students can feel directly so that we can maintain our standing as the university most satisfying to students."
