Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Woodworking Support Center (Center Director Oh Seung-won) and the Imsil Wood Culture Experience Center, operated by the Hanok Technicians Association (Association President Kim Ga-young), have partnered to promote the development and revitalization of the domestic wood-related industry.

The JBNU Woodworking Support Center, after signing agreements last year with Jangsu County and Muju County and carrying out various wood-related projects for local residents, has now broadened its scope of cooperation to the Imsil area. This expansion is expected to enrich wood culture experience activities for local residents.

In particular, by signing a memorandum of understanding with the wood culture experience center located within North Jeolla Province, they completed the establishment of a network to revitalize local wood-related sectors.

Under this agreement, the JBNU Woodworking Support Center and the Imsil Wood Culture Experience Center will expand and implement the woodworking experience events for local residents that they have held annually in cooperation with local governments.

They also agreed to collaborate on personnel and material exchanges related to wood, jointly pursue national grant programs and research and development projects, exchange wood culture experience programs, and train specialized wood industry personnel.

Oh Seung-won, Director of the JBNU Woodworking Support Center, said, "Coexistence with the region is the core goal and value of JBNU as it pursues the Glocal University 30 Project, which makes this agreement especially meaningful. We will expand cooperation with the region to widely promote the excellence of wood culture to local residents and work to further revitalize the region's wood culture."
