Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang Oh-bong) held a session on April 15 at 2:00 PM to explore ways to advance relations between the two countries through a special lecture by Aida Ismailova, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea.

On that day, Ambassador Ismailova delivered a special lecture titled 'Development of Bilateral Relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea' to about 150 members of the JBNU community at Donghaeng Hall, New Silk Road Center, JBNU.

Ambassador Ismailova studied Korean economic studies at the Faculty of Humanities in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. She has worked as a Korean language teacher and interpreter, and served as Vice Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic beginning in 2015. In 2022, she was appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and has contributed to promoting exchange and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.

During the lecture, Ambassador Ismailova presented video materials to help attendees understand the Kyrgyz Republic. She explained Kyrgyz culture and bilateral relations, providing the JBNU community with an opportunity to learn about the country.

Ambassador Ismailova said, "I am grateful for JBNU's invitation to give this lecture. It was a rewarding opportunity to introduce the Kyrgyz Republic. Recently, MOUs between JBNU and universities in the Kyrgyz Republic have been actively pursued, and I expect educational cooperation between the two countries to develop further."

President Yang Oh-bong responded, "Since 2002, beginning with Osh State University, JBNU has actively exchanged with five universities in the Kyrgyz Republic. Last year, we signed agreements with two universities, including Kyrgyz State Technical University, and are actively cooperating to attract international students. Through the expansion of these cooperative relationships, the partnership between the two countries will be further solidified, and I am confident it will greatly help enhance our students' global mindset."

Meanwhile, JBNU met with resident foreign ambassadors in 2023 to discuss inter-university exchanges and cooperation for selection to the Glocal University 30 project, and at that meeting proposed inviting ambassadors to give special lectures. Beginning with the lecture by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, a lecture by the Ambassador of Morocco to the Republic of Korea is scheduled for May 7.
