Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Law School's The Institute for Northeast Asian Law Virtual Goods Law Center (Director: Professor Song Moon-ho) hosted an international joint academic conference with Jindal Global University, India’s top-ranked private university, and also signed an MOU to pursue cooperation across multiple fields.
Jindal Global University was ranked No. 1 in India in the QS rankings in 2023. It has a faculty of 1,100 drawn from 49 countries.
The center director, Professor Song Moon-ho, and the center's full-time researchers recently visited Jindal Global University in India. They presented Korean case law and legal theory on virtual assets, data, and artificial intelligence—areas central to the advanced virtual economy of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that is already a reality and expected to expand further—demonstrating the excellence of K-Law and drawing strong interest from Indian scholars.
The international conference was made more significant by presentations not only from JBNU and Jindal Global University faculty but also from Jang Woo-chan, KOICA Chief at the Korean Embassy in India, and Jo Chung-je, President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, who proposed practical and concrete exchange measures between Korea and India.
At the signing ceremony held the following day, Professor Song Moon-ho, Director of The Institute for Northeast Asian Law Virtual Goods Law Center at JBNU, and Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Jindal Global University, met in person and signed the agreement.
Vice Chancellor Kumar described the university's status and vision as founded by the Jindal family conglomerate and expressed hope that not only research exchanges but also concrete student exchanges would be activated. Raknath Jayasinghe, an Australian national and Director of International Affairs, provided detailed explanations of Jindal Global University's international exchange programs and proposed actively promoting student exchanges with JBNU, raising expectations for vigorous collaboration.
Professor Song Moon-ho stated, "Through this international joint academic conference, we confirmed the international standing of JBNU's legal education and research. We expect that active exchanges with Jindal Global University will create significant synergy for the advancement of education and research at both institutions."
