Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) operates a program to help students understand French culture and to support their employment. The program has been well received.

JBNU, with support from the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), which is headquartered in Paris, said that on April 11 twenty-two students seeking global employment visited the Korea-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of France in Seoul to obtain various employment-related information.

The Korea-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a non-profit private organization founded in 1953. It facilitates economic exchanges between Korean and French companies and operates various programs, including organizing meetings and inviting buyers between firms from the two countries.

Through the visit, JBNU students obtained a range of information about French companies and learned about hiring requirements, gaining a valuable opportunity to plan career paths toward global companies.

Students who participated in the program included those from JBNU's Department of Architecture, Department of Archaeology & Anthropology, Department of German Studies, and Department of French and African Studies. They received information on recruitment by French companies and advice on employment relevant to their fields of study.

Cho Hwarim, Director of the Office of International Affairs, said, 'Recently, JBNU has been working through the Global University 30 Project to strengthen students' international competencies and to expand overseas employment opportunities,' and added, 'We plan to continue implementing such programs so that students can broaden their international perspectives and work in a variety of countries.'
