JBNU (President Yang O-bong) cooperated with the Embassy of Israel in Korea to advance the successful implementation of the Glocal University 30 Project and discussed exchanges with leading Israeli universities.

Ambassador Akiva Tor of the Embassy of Israel in Korea, who participates in the "Global Advisory Committee" established last year to ensure the successful implementation of the Glocal University 30 Project, visited JBNU President Yang O-bong at 11:00 a.m. on April 2 and held a meeting covering these matters.

Since last year, JBNU has been strengthening cooperative frameworks with numerous foreign embassies in Korea to advance the Glocal University 30 Project. It has previously met with the Ambassador of Israel in Korea to discuss exchanges of cutting-edge technologies in defense, batteries, cybersecurity, and AI.

During this visit, Ambassador Tor and President Yang sought various cooperation measures, including concretizing substantive exchanges with leading Israeli universities in the project’s core research areas. This visit is expected to lead to the pursuit of substantive MOUs and further cooperation discussions with leading Israeli universities.

President Yang O-bong said, "Thanks to the significant assistance of leading foreign ambassadors in Korea, last year our university was proudly selected for the Glocal University 30 Project," and added, "Through substantive and sustained cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Korea, we will create a foundation not only to attract outstanding international students but also to enable our excellent students to study at prestigious Israeli universities."
