"I hope students of the College of Veterinary Medicine can focus on their studies in a better environment."
Kim Song-gyu, director of Kiwoom Farm Animal Hospital and an alumnus (Class of '88) of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang Oh-bong), donated 10 million won to the development fund in hopes of enhancing the university's competitiveness.
The Jeonbuk National University Development Foundation presented Director Kim with a plaque of appreciation on March 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the President's Office at University Headquarters, with President Yang Oh-bong and other senior university officials in attendance.
Director Kim decided to make the donation to put into practice his long-held wish to contribute to the development of his alma mater. Previously, in October last year, he had also contributed 10 million won to the fund.
He said, "I hope JBNU, which is steadily growing, will advance to become a global top-100 university leading the future," adding, "I hope this donation helps create an environment where students of the College of Veterinary Medicine can study to their fullest."
Director Kim's development fund has been designated as a fund to enhance the university's competitiveness and will be used to improve the educational environment for students of the College of Veterinary Medicine, among other purposes.
