“I sincerely support Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) in further developing as a regional hub university.”

Kim Tae-gyun, Clinic Director of Jeonju Top Conservative Dentistry Clinic and an alumnus of the School of Dentistry at JBNU (Class of 1999), donated KRW 100 million to the development fund to support the university's efforts to enhance its competitiveness.

The Jeonbuk National University Development Foundation presented a plaque of appreciation to alumnus Kim on March 28 at 3:00 p.m. in the President's Office, University Headquarters, with President Yang Oh-bong and key university officials in attendance.

Alumnus Kim said, “I have always been grateful to the JBNU School of Dentistry and the Department of Conservative Dentistry for enabling me, as a specialist in conservative dentistry, to take pride in preserving natural teeth,” and added, “I decided to make this donation especially to express my gratitude to my mentor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Professor Yu Mi-kyung, who recently assumed the deanship.”

Kim added, “I sincerely hope that our JBNU will further develop as a regional hub university amid challenges such as low birth rates and the risk of regional extinction.”

The development fund will be used to improve the educational environment for students of the School of Dentistry.
