The Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)-operated Jeonbuk Green Environment Support Center (Director: Kwak Dong-hee) and the Jeonju Policy Research Institute (Director: Park Mi-ja), the policy think tank of Jeonju City, have agreed to collaborate to realize carbon neutrality and respond to the increasingly severe challenge of climate change.

The two organizations announced on the 26th that they recently signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cooperation for Research on Jeonju's Climate Change and Environmental Issues and the Realization of Carbon Neutrality' at the Jeonju Policy Research Institute.

Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to actively cooperate on policy research concerning Jeonju's carbon neutrality and climate change adaptation, conduct Collaborative Research to address environmental issues, and share information on academic research.

Kwak Dong-hee, director of the Jeonbuk Green Environment Support Center, said, 'We face a significant challenge of our time in moving toward a sustainable, carbon-neutral, and green Jeonju,' adding, 'Through mutual cooperation between the JBNU research institute the Jeonbuk Green Environment Support Center and the Jeonju Policy Research Institute, we will work to reduce Jeonju's vulnerability to the impacts of climate change and contribute to transforming our region into a carbon-neutral society.'
