Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) operates the Jeonbuk Provincial Environment and Health Center (Director Son Jeong-woo) under commission from the Ministry of Environment. The Center signed an agreement with the Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Education Center on March 20 to systematize and advance regionally tailored 'environmental health' education.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Environment and Health Center is a regional environment and health center designated by the Ministry of Environment in March last year, with JBNU as the lead institution, to establish an environment and health infrastructure for the Jeonbuk region.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Education Center is a regional specialized environmental education institution designated and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Jeollabuk-do under the Act on the Activation and Support for Environmental Education. It operates various programs to strengthen the foundation for activating regional environmental education. 

Under the agreement, the two organizations agreed to strengthen the environmental health expertise of environmental instructors and health teachers. To this end, they will cooperate to raise awareness of environmental health in the region and to promote standardized environmental health education tailored to vulnerable populations.

Director Son Jeong-woo said, "We will cooperate with the Jeonbuk Provincial Environmental Education Center to hold related seminars and symposia to enhance local residents' environmental health capacities," and added, "We will work closely together to ensure regionally tailored environmental health education is activated."
