Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong) Central Library (Director Lee Jun-young)'s Foreign Research Information Center for Agriculture, Livestock and Veterinary Medicine received the highest rating in the '2023 Foreign Research Information Center Project Performance Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS).

The Foreign Research Information Center (FRIC) project selects and operates thematic centers at 10 university libraries nationwide to create an infrastructure for the national shared use of foreign scholarly information.

JBNU was selected as an FRIC in 2009 and subscribes to and collects 874 core foreign scholarly journals (2.06 million articles) in the fields of agriculture, livestock and veterinary medicine. These resources are provided free of charge to researchers nationwide, contributing to the strengthening of national research competitiveness.

Among the four areas and ten indicators evaluated in this project, JBNU received the highest rating with high scores in securing matching funds, establishing on- and off-campus cooperation systems, and promotional activities. JBNU will receive national support totaling KRW 250 million, including a performance support grant of KRW 10 million.

Director Lee Jun-young said, 'JBNU will strive to serve as a national hub university by continuously participating in the national support projects for 10 thematic areas across regions and to play a central role as a glocal leading university.'
