Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong) announced on the 23rd that Peter Lam, President of Temasek Polytechnic of Singapore, one of its sister institutions, accompanied by the Dean of the Design School and the Dean of the College of Business, visited JBNU on the 21st and agreed to actively promote personnel exchanges and collaborative research.
The institution is one of Singapore's five national polytechnic institutions and signed an academic exchange agreement with JBNU in 2022, continuing exchanges of personnel and material resources.
The delegation visited JBNU's Gukcheo Office and met with Deputy Vice-President Park Seong-yong. They heard about JBNU's strengths and its vision to become a global hub university through the Glocal University 30 Project, and discussed various cooperation measures including academic exchange.
They also met with An Guk-chan, Executive Vice-President of Foreign Affairs and Professional Affairs, and agreed to pursue participation in 'The Feeling Korea,' a short-term Korean cultural experience program that JBNU is promoting to lay the foundation for attracting 5,000 international students. They also agreed to promote joint research through faculty exchanges going forward.
An Guk-chan, Executive Vice-President of Foreign Affairs and Professional Affairs at JBNU, said, "Through this meeting with the delegation from Temasek Polytechnic, I expect that the academic exchanges conducted so far can be further concretized. As JBNU seeks to recruit 5,000 international students through the Glocal University 30 Project and to pursue a Glocal Hub University based on this, I hope this cooperation will serve as the catalyst to realize that."
