The event was attended by Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Education; Kim Joong-soo, Chair of the Glocal University Committee; Lee Kwang-bok, President of the National Research Foundation of Korea; presidents of the selected and participating universities in the Glocal University 30 Project including JBNU; metropolitan and provincial heads of the relevant regions; and other officials. Through university-level agreements, the implementation of innovations under the Glocal University 30 Project was specified. He added, "We will continue to innovate so that JBNU's positive influence reaches every company and household in the Jeonbuk region."
Kim Jong-hoon, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "We will actively support the Glocal universities so that, through close communication and cooperative systems among the province, universities and industry, they can become the innovation engine of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province."
In the second part, a strategy forum followed to explore the dissemination and direction of the innovation models proposed by the Glocal universities.
At the strategy forum, Kim Woo-seung, President of the Korea Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (Vice Chair of the Glocal University Committee), delivered a presentation. The forum, which included Glocal universities, local governments, industry, education sectors and university students, along with questions and suggestions from on-site and online participants, sought alternatives for spreading the Glocal Project's innovation model.
