Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing (Dean, Professor Hyun‑ok Kim) saw all 86 candidates pass the 64th National Nursing Examination held on January 19, reaffirming its status as one of the nation's leading nursing education institutions.
Since beginning nursing education in 1942, the JBNU College of Nursing has grown to serve approximately 500 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. The college is housed in a seven‑story standalone building and is equipped with an outstanding faculty, advanced educational facilities, and outcome‑based curricula. It provides an optimal learning environment and is committed to training nursing professionals with glocal capabilities.
The College's strong performance in the National Nursing Examination resulted from the combined efforts of faculty to improve educational conditions, support from alumni, and the students' determination, which together created significant synergy.
In particular, after being selected in 2019 for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Nursing College Clinical Training Support Project,' the JBNU College of Nursing expanded the Comprehensive Nursing Simulation Center to strengthen clinical practicum and skills training for students, substantially enhancing their educational competitiveness. The college actively shares these resources with regional universities, medical institutions, and local branches of the Korean Nurses Association, fulfilling its role as a national flagship public university.
Dean Hyun‑ok Kim of the JBNU College of Nursing said, 'This achievement is the result of a harmonious combination of the university headquarters' active support for a student‑centered university, the passion of the department's faculty, and the students' determination to learn. Going forward, we will further strengthen specialized educational support for national examinations and employment to uphold our reputation as the country's premier center for training professional nurses.'
