"We will expand Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)'s unique employability enhancement programs to realize a student-centered university."
JBNU (President Yang Oh-bong)'s Office of Student Career Support organized a meeting to share the outcomes of the customized talent development program 'Keunsaram Project' and to discuss future plans.
On February 15 at 5:00 PM, President Yang Oh-bong, An Guk-chan, Executive Vice‑President of Foreign Affairs and Professional Affairs, and students selected as core talents gathered in JBNU's headquarters meeting room.
The Keunsaram Project is a program that supports voluntary career development and the strengthening of employability from admission through graduation. In the 2023 academic year it produced 53 core talents.
The program assigns belts to be achieved by each academic year (WHITE, YELLOW, BLUE, RED, BLACK). Students who meet the targets receive tuition reductions and scholarships of up to KRW 2,000,000.
Students who obtain the black belt, which symbolizes core talent, also receive a certificate from the President recognizing them as outstanding talent at the time of employment.
JBNU's Office of Student Career Support provided the 'Glocal Belt Scholarship,' awarded to students selected as belts under the Keunsaram Project, to 1,141 students last year, totaling KRW 1,154,500,000.
At the meeting, following the sharing of the Keunsaram Project's results, participants discussed systematic plans such as increasing the number of selected core talents and the scale of scholarships, and operating higher-quality programs.
In particular, they planned to build a system that allows core talents to remain connected with current students after graduation so they can help juniors adapt to university life, plan careers, and share employment information.
The Office of Student Career Support's initiative is expected to strengthen students' capabilities and raise employment rates.
An Guk-chan, Executive Vice‑President of Foreign Affairs and Professional Affairs, said, "The Keunsaram Project will form the foundation for JBNU's rise into the global Top 100. We will support the realization of the student-centered university that JBNU aspires to."
President Yang Oh-bong said, "We are pursuing bold changes and innovations to create 'a university that students want to come to, want to attend, and want to study at.' We will continue to provide systematic and efficient support for customized talent development."
