Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang Oh-bong) announced on the 13th that it has prepared the 'Guide on Learning Ethics for Remote Instruction' to address issues such as academic misconduct resulting from the global trend toward expanded remote instruction.
Prepared under the auspices of the JBNU Office of Educational Innovation (Director Kim Hyun-kyung, Professor, Department of Science Education), the guide was developed following expert review by JBNU Principal Investigator (PI) Jeong Hyun-chul (Professor, College of Education) and other specialists. It comprehensively analyzed problems and cases of remote instruction from the perspectives and experiences of instructors and learners, and proposed a learning ethics guide and measures to prevent academic misconduct.
It includes guidelines for the use of systems and software and guidance on learning ethics for learners and instructors in remote instruction.
Specifically, it emphasizes compliance with system usage rules to prevent academic misconduct, underscores the importance of sincere participation and effort, and presents strategies for student monitoring and verification.
JBNU plans to make beneficial use of the guide on learning ethics for remote instruction through educational activities such as freshman orientation and by providing guidance on requesting course materials.
Kim Hyun-kyung, Director of the Office of Educational Innovation, stated, "We will continue our efforts to cultivate learning ethics in remote instruction and to prevent academic misconduct."
