Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) University Museum, directed by Kim Eun-hee, is holding a special exhibition introducing artifacts purchased by the university. The exhibition, 'Deulda: To Be Accepted, To Enter' runs through May 25 in the museum's 1st Floor Special Exhibition Hall.
This exhibition, which introduces artifacts the university purchased from 2020 to 2023, presents around 100 museum collection items acquired over the past four years, including old documents, antique books, and calligraphy and painting works.
The artifacts collected nationwide through acquisition announcements each carry different histories and meanings, so the museum organized the displays around storylines resembling life narratives.
Part I is composed of 'Learn, Follow, Advance'; Part II of 'Join Hands, Protect, Convey, Act, Write and Paint'; and Part III of 'Honor, Connect'.
Visitors will encounter the determination of Jin Geon-su (陳健秀) of Namwon, who took the Wanyeong (完營) chosi (初試) at the age of 60; the sentiment of Geumjae (欽齋) Choi Byeong-sim (崔秉心), who wrote a poem for a young man departing from afar; Chu Gyo-young's Wansan Eight Views; and Yu Yeong-wan's ink-bamboo works.
Kim Eun-hee, Director of the JBNU University Museum, said, "We plan to hold special exhibitions regularly to make all artifacts public," and asked for the interest of students and local residents.
