Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong), which is implementing the Local Government–University Cooperation–based Regional Innovation Project (RIS), held the “Autonomous Driving Robot Camp for Elementary and Middle School Students” as part of the Jeonbuk Saemangeum Tech Platform University (JST) Shared University.

On the 30th, the camp held at the JBNU International Convention Center connected students from JBNU and nine other participating universities in the Jeonbuk region with 100 elementary and middle school students as mentors and mentees, and delivered a program for nurturing future talent.

The JBNU RIS University Innovation Center organized the event with the goals of enhancing understanding of principles and cases of Smart City implementation using autonomous driving robots; learning coding programs that operate autonomous driving systems; improving future competencies through team-based “AI Autonomous Driving Mobility City” projects; and strengthening collaboration and communication skills through team project work.

Kim Hyun‑kyung, Director of the RIS University Innovation Center and Professor in the Department of Science Education at JBNU, stated, “We will continue to plan and implement valuable educational programs across the JST shared university’s core fields to help students in our region develop diverse competencies.”
