Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), led by President Yang Oh-bong, is strengthening the establishment of the JBNU International Center and global educational exchanges through close cooperation with overseas educational institutions.

From the 24th to the 27th, JBNU visited major educational institutions in Bangkok and Pathum Thani, Thailand, and established a systematic and comprehensive cooperation framework regarding the establishment of the JBNU International Center.

In addition, it agreed to pool efforts to promote exchanges in education, research, students, and academic information to strengthen global educational exchanges.

They visited Sarabwittaya High School in Thailand, which had participated in the visit-to-Korea training program for Thai secondary school principals hosted by JBNU last November. They discussed with the principals the admission of outstanding students to undergraduate degree programs at JBNU and also held an informational session for students.

Sarabwittaya High School has a Korean language major, and currently about 100 high school students are studying Korean.

At Srinakharinwirot University, a sister university located in Bangkok, they met with Sitthini Tamachai, Head of the Department of Korean Language, and other Korean language faculty to discuss practical exchange and cooperation measures such as short-term programs.

Accordingly, students from Srinakharinwirot University are scheduled to visit JBNU starting next semester.

They also visited the Korean Education Center in Thailand to discuss Korean-language education in the Thai region and strategies for attracting international students to JBNU, and pledged mutual cooperation to advance Korean-language education in the Thai region.

JBNU President Yang Oh-bong stated, "Through the Glocal University 30 Project, we will recruit more outstanding international students and provide them with the best possible education," adding, "We will devote all efforts to maintain close cooperative ties with major overseas educational institutions to expand and strengthen global educational exchanges."
