Professor Kwon Dae-gyu (Division of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering) has been inaugurated as the 9th President of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of Korea (RESKO). His term is two years, until December 31, 2025.
The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of Korea (RESKO) is the largest domestic society related to rehabilitation and welfare engineering. It was founded in 2007 by engineering and information division members of the Korea Association of Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, who were concerned that there was no specialized society in Korea for rehabilitation, welfare, and assistive technology for people with disabilities and the elderly. RESKO was modeled on RESNA, a globally recognized and long-established rehabilitation society.
Since its founding, it has held regular academic conferences twice a year and publishes the Journal of Rehabilitation and Welfare Engineering, a Korea Research Foundation-indexed journal, four times a year.
Professor Kwon Dae-gyu, the new president, expressed his aspiration, saying, "We will continue to advance by responding to the rapidly changing conditions of modern society through strong collaboration with members and by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative research."
