Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has signed an agreement with the Jeollabuk-do Election Commission (Chairperson Oh Jae-seong, hereinafter Jeonbuk Election Commission) to ensure the stable administration of the 22nd National Assembly elections to be held next year and to expand opportunities for university students to participate in elections.

On December 26 at 10:00 a.m., JBNU and the Jeonbuk Election Commission held an official signing ceremony at the JBNU President's Office, attended by senior officials from both institutions.

Under the agreement, the Jeonbuk Election Commission pledged to actively ensure the participation of JBNU students in all election procedures, including voting and vote-counting operations, to secure the stable administration of the National Assembly elections.

JBNU also agreed to actively cooperate in recruitment, publicity, and training to facilitate students' participation in election processes such as voting and vote-counting duties.

President Yang O-bong said, "There is no more vivid experience or learning than students participating in the entire process of elections, which are the flower of democracy," adding, "We will spare no effort to support the smooth conduct of all procedures in next year's National Assembly elections and to enable our students to participate fully in election management."

Chairperson Oh Jae-seong also said, "Through this agreement, I hope that outstanding local students will actively participate in the voting and vote-counting processes and correctly understand elections, the foundation of democracy," adding, "We expect students' active participation to become a driving force for the advancement of democracy."
