Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) planted a tree to commemorate its selection for the Glocal University 30 Project.
JBNU held a tree-planting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on the 18th in front of the university headquarters, attended by President Yang O-bong and administrative faculty members.
The tree planted that day was a Bansong (盤松), a pine in which multiple branches of equal size grow from a single stem. JBNU said the tree symbolizes its intention to advance as a flagship university that leads mutual development with the region and to boldly move forward as a student-centered university and a global hub.
President Yang O-bong said, "Selection for the Glocal University 30 Project is something that fills me with great emotion from the very beginning," and added, "We will consolidate our standing as a flagship university leading regional development and rise as a world-class Glocal university."
