Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Semiconductor Specialization University Project Group (Director Professor Jin-su Kim) organized a forum between semiconductor companies and students to support students aspiring to enter the semiconductor field. The event received an enthusiastic response from students.
On the 7th, the Project Group held a forum and a talk concert at JBNU New Silk Road, 7th-floor Donghaeng Hall. Attendees included Optowell Co., Ltd. Research Director Son Jeong-gwon, PJP Tech CTO Choi Beom-ho, and Yang Yoon-seong, Head of Human Resources at Kukje Electric Korea, among other executives and staff from semiconductor companies.
At the event, representatives of semiconductor companies introduced their companies and gave lectures for students intending to enter the field, under the theme "Preparing for a Career in Semiconductors."
In the subsequent talk concert on the theme "Dreaming of a Career in Semiconductors," Optowell Co., Ltd., PJP Tech, Kukje Electric Korea, and the Advanced Radiation Research Institute of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute participated. They listened directly to students' concerns about career planning and provided practical information for students aiming to enter the semiconductor field through detailed explanations of the qualities and hiring processes sought by each company and research institute.
Myeong-seop Song, a 2nd-year student in the Division of Mechanical Design Engineering who participated in the talk concert, said, "Having direct conversations with company and research institute staff strengthened my determination to pursue a career in the semiconductor field. Since JBNU was selected for the government's Semiconductor University Specialization Project and is now cultivating excellent talent in the related fields, I expect opportunities for our students to enter the semiconductor industry will further expand."
Professor Jin-su Kim, Director of the Semiconductor Specialization University Project Group, said, "We organized this event to provide more practical information to students who wish to enter companies or research institutes in the semiconductor field and to give companies an opportunity to communicate with their future workforce. Through JBNU's 'Semiconductor Convergence Major,' we will work closely with industry so that students can acquire the latest semiconductor technologies and practical field skills, and we will strive to expand demand-driven, practice-oriented curricula."
