Professor Hee Seo of the Department of Quantum System Engineering at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Yang O-bong) received the "1st iTRS Radiation Protection Technology Award" at the "2023 Korean Association for Radiation Protection Autumn Conference and Annual General Meeting" held recently in Jeju Island.

This award was jointly established by the Korean Association for Radiation Protection and Hanyang University’s Radiation Safety New Technology Research Institute (iTRS) to encourage researchers in the field of radiation protection and to promote the development of related industries.

Professor Seo was selected as the awardee in recognition of her outstanding research achievements, having published numerous papers in the field of radiation protection over the past decade and registered domestic and international patents.

She was also recognized for contributions to the development of the Korean Association for Radiation Protection through many years of service on the society’s board, presentations of papers at the society, and participation in workshops.

Professor Seo stated, "I will continue to strive to advance radiation protection technology in Korea and to cultivate outstanding talent."
