The Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) University Museum has been well received for communicating and sharing the university’s outstanding resources with the local community through the 'Visiting Museum Program'.

As part of a national university development initiative, this program, titled 'Museum, Into the Community,' has been conducted by the JBNU University Museum since 2019. It offers tailored cultural experiences designed to improve local students’ access to culture.

This year as well, the museum visited Muju Anseong Elementary School and Gucheon Elementary School on July 26 and August 31 to deliver experiential programs aimed at enhancing understanding of our documentary cultural heritage.

At this session, the JBNU University Museum presented reproductions of representative documentary cultural heritage among its archival documents, including Joseon-era land sale documents and munan danja. A docent-led session with expert storytelling allowed participants to explore the significance of these documents and the lives of the forebears they reflect.

Participants also engaged in various educational activities, including traditional Korean printing experiences such as neung-hwa plate printing, woodblock printing, and printing sijeonji patterns, as well as worksheet-based activities to enhance learning outcomes.

An official from Muju Gucheon Elementary School commented, 'Because the school is in a remote area, students have limited opportunities for diverse cultural experiences. The Visiting Museum Program provided a valuable opportunity for our students to experience historical culture.'

Through these efforts, it will provide local students with diverse activity opportunities and continue various educational programs for the community.'
